DHDE Field Survey

Why this trip matters

The DHDE model already tracks Fukui's own sites with edge-AI camera counts, JMA weather, search-intent and hotel data. Fieldwork days are the benchmark and ground-truth side of that model — including some of Fukui's own sites, plus mature high-traffic comparisons in Osaka, Kyoto and Kanazawa. Everything logged here feeds the suppressed-demand and congestion forecasts.

Field conduct

• No fixed roles — split up by category naturally when you arrive, and rotate if it's quiet.
• Buddy up — never survey a service provider or intercept a visitor alone.
• Ask permission before quoting a business owner, recording a voice note, or photographing an identifiable face.
• Charge phones at breakfast; pack a portable battery. Open this app once over wifi before you leave — it then works offline all day.
• Halal note: on days that flag it, meals may not be reliable on-site — pack accordingly.

How your data reaches everyone

The dot next to your name up top turns green when you're connected — while it's on, your counts, ratings, and survey answers sync live to the whole team automatically, and you'll see everyone else's the same way. It queues locally and catches up the moment you're back online, so it's safe to keep working with no signal.

Photos and voice notes don't sync live — they're too large for that. They stay on your phone until you export: open Log, tap Export, and send the file to whoever is compiling, who pastes it into Merge in a teammate's export. Do this at every break regardless of the sync dot.
